Performance Management in Buildings Focus of Shanghai Summit

Mr. Henry Cheng from Chong Bang Group analyzed the commercial property opportunities in residential sub-urbanization with accurate data and shared the case study on Chong Bang’s suburban shopping mall: LIFE HUB @ ANTING Mr. Yuan Wei from Sunyat Group illustrated the development history of shopping malls in China and mentioned lots of classic projects cases in past 10 years such as Plaza 66, Parkson Plaza, Joy City, Kerry Parkside, L’ Avenue Shanghai and Yuexing Global Harbor. Mr. Yuan also shared with us the key elements helping to build successful commercial projects in the future like customer experience in shopping malls, more individuation and diversity in themes.

Diversified portfolios of commercial projects such as wheelock established its subsidiary buyer shops, emphasizing the differentiation with limited recourses and it’s obviously a trend in Shanghai; retail industry must be more interactive between online and offline.

Moderated by Mr. Pan Tao from Powerlong Group, the wonderful brainstorming regarding coordination among leasing, designing and engineering department, competition with E-shopping gathered Mr. Trevor Vivian from BENOY, Mr. Lawerence S. Ng from PCPA, Mr. Richard Yuan from RTKL and Mr. Jeffery Fan from MG2.

At the end of Day One, around 100 elite attendees joined “Philips Lighting” Gala Welcome Dinner, they chatted the opportunities and challenges of future commercial property sector after the delicious food.

On day two, Julie Dai from Horwath HTL, Robin Shen from Shimao Hotel Management Group, Cai Shuo from Regent International Hotels, Tim Gao from The Elite International Hotels Management Company, Simon Zhuang from R&F Hotel Management Group discussed on “Creating Sustainable & High-Value Hotel & Resort Project by Owner, Consultant & Designer”. Then Pan Yu En from Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts brought all the delegates a very interesting topic “Practical Exploration of Vocational Hotel: The Most Important Factor is ‘Taste’” with a detail case analysis of different hotels under Banyan Tree Hotels.

Tim Gao from The Elite International Hotels Management Company also focused on the case Micro-E Hotel in Dezhou to illustrate“Three Steps for Sustainable Development of China Hotel Industry”. Besides, Mr. Ren from Greenland International Hotels Group, Ingvar Herland from The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Limited, Winston Suen from Langham Hotels International, they get deep Insights into High-End Hotel Customer-End Technology Research & Development to Realize Mutual “Win-Win” Situation between Clients and Hotel Management Groups, from their view of high-tech application in hotel management. It’s worth mentioning that Jocelyn Yang from LTW firstly show the Hot Springs Villa Hotel in Yunnan Tengchong, which is still under construction.

In office building and ultra highrise chapter, Jiang Ping from Aedas,Cedric Tang from TFP Farrells, Helen Ts form DB&B,Eric Legere from M Moser Associates and Luis Keats from DTZ brought excellent speech and panel discussion on “Commercial Office Space & Ultra Building: Prefect, Efficient, Safe, Green” and explain where exists the real appreciation in office building.
